Boom Box Card!!

Hey ya!!
Two days back..it was my husband's birthday and I thought of making something different (and special too). Something that I had never made before.

So, with all the help from a very simple and easy to understand tutorial from Sazzle, I made this explosion box card. But one of my friends renamed it as the 'Boom Box Card'. A special thanks to one of my sissie's who encouraged me to try doing something different and to come out of my comfort zone.

So here is my 'Boom Box' .

The top cover: This the box cover which is decorated with doily, flowers, a stamp, leaves, laces and a butterfly. Also added a white satin-ribbon hanging on the side to give it a charm-effect.

One of the side panels: This side panel has been decorated with buttons, twine, rhinestones, laces, flowers and the leaves. Did you notice the zig-zag cutting of all layers?

And now BOOOOOM...opens the boom box..

First layer: This layer is sweet and simple so that the entire focus could be at the basket in the center. This layer has pockets with some personalized messages written on the tags. The ribbons at the top would pull out the tags.
A closer look at the little basket in the center with the hand-written sentiment. Did you notice the green grass effect under the basket?

Second Layer: This layer is embossed with foam sheets (not visible in the picture) so as to give a 3-D effect. A hand-written message and the stickers completed this layer (The cover of the box is put just to get a clear picture).

Third layer: This layer is full of sentiments with some rhinestones and pollen to complete the look. If you notice, all layers as well as the outer covering of the box is distressed.

Recipe:
Card stock: Cupcakes, Pink Hearts and Purple Pine Stripes, Zig-zag Scissors
Others: Paper Doilies, Flowers, Leaves, Pollen, Butterfly, Button, Twine, Lace, Rhinestones, Printed Sentiments, Numbers (30), Stickies, Metal and Plastic Star Charms, Cane Basket, Distress Inks, Glitter, Tags, Ribbons, Green grass and Foam Sheets

Good Afternoon Everyone!!

Before I tell you about the challenge and show my DT creation, I want to wish Diane (The lovely lady @ Simply Create Too) a belated Happy Birthday!! It was her birthday on the 19th of this month. May god bless her with good health, wealth and love. She is an inspiration to me and to loads of other crafters as well.

And today this post is for the ongoing challenge at Simply Create Too's challenge (Challenge # 57 - Animals). As it is a mid-post, there are amazing creations from the DT and lots of lovely entries as well. So hurry and rush in your entries as well.

And here is my DT card for the same.

DT Post: Friday Aloha Challenge @ Kitty Bee Designs Blog

Hello Peeps,

Yet another weekend is round the corner and hope to do a lot of crafting.
But today is Friday, which means time for Friday Aloha Challenge at Kitty Bee Designs Blog.

The theme of the challenge # 18 is Monochrome and the sponsor is the lovely Lacy Sunshine Stamps

So here is my DT creation for the mid-post of this challenge..

I have used the lovely Eleanor's Heart Balloons from Lacy Sunshine Stamps. Isn't she just too cute!! To keep with the theme of the challenge, I have colored the image in shades of orange and red and a little yellow here and there. After all, all these colors belong to the same family.Lol

I have topped this image on a chocolate box which has been covered with two layers of patterned paper. Also, I have used paper doily, flowers, bay leaf, ribbons and some square rhinestones as embellishments. And to add the bling I have put some glitter here and there.

Also, added a cute tag on the top of the box attached with a matching twine. It can be pulled out for writing the message.

And also, made a swirl design around the image. The side panels of the box have been matched with the cover. Just added a flower to give it a knob like feel.

Hope you liked my fun creation and are excited to show your's too..
So why don't you also join in the fun and hop on to the Kitty Bee Designs Blog

Luv Is In The Air

Hello there everyone!!

I have a sweet simple card to share with all of you!! I think this is one of my first very clean and simple cards or as you call it CAS.. a very different technique from what I make otherwise.

It is a congratulations card with a handwritten sentiment on the cloud. Hey all the things on the card are hand-cut..right from the clouds to the little birdies to the big pink heart except for the two little hearts on the cloud (they are punched).

I cut out all the images and put them upon the black background. The copper wire is glued to the card to give a fence effect. To add the bling, I have made a faux-stitch with glitter and written congratulations with the same glitter. Also thanks to my lil brother for the smoldering (he does that to his electrical projects) that gave me those round silver glitter stickies. :)

Oops I forgot to mention that both the birds have been placed on wooden pink-colored clips. And this can be used to personalize it by putting small pictures.

I am entering it for the following challenges:

Valentine Day Special: Love Is In The Air

Hellllllllloooooooo Everyone!!

I know this is my post after a very very long time!! No excuses..but my internship is just keeping me too busy!! Apologies !! Hey but now I'm back with a bang!!

As this is Valentines week and Valentine's Day is just round the corner..I thought of making this love-themed card.

For the card, I chose this lovely Magnolia Tilda with the heart baloon (Yes!! love is in the air).
I have added a wooden pink butterfly, pretty pink and white flowers, pearls, a pink heart, white lace and a blue ribbon in contrast as embellishments!! Also, please do not forget to see the detachable tags on the right-hand side of the lovely image. There are two tags attached together with the brad and the twine. One of the tags has the symbol of love: the Eiffel Tower and the other one has a printed love sentiment 'Love is actually all around'.  The background  pink-heart paper just adds to more love.

The first two images are without the glitter..Oops I forget to add the bling..

And here comes the bling..glitter

Note: Booked and Sold
